KARACHI: Speeding by heavy vehicles in Karachi needs the government’s immediate attention. Massive motor vehicles are being operated by irresponsible drivers at uncontrollable speeds causing accidents, which claim the lives of innocent people. There are reports of such deadly accidents almost daily.
It is shocking that the authorities concerned have done nothing to curb the menace. The traffic authorities should place a check on the speed of all vehicles, like they do in the West and thus ensure the safety of people. Also, there needs to be separate lanes for larger vehicles to minimise the risk of collisions with smaller vehicles.
