What ails Sindh

Letter August 21, 2016
Sindh government should pay attention to resolving the people’s problems immediately

FAISALABAD: The information adviser to Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah, Maula Bakhsh Chandio, is often seen on media blaming Punjab for its improper and inappropriate behaviour with smaller provinces. In fact, the rulers of Sindh are primarily responsible for the destruction and damage in their province. They have been ruling for many decades but only promoted nepotism, corruption, lawlessness and division between urban and rural Sindh. The newly formed cabinet of the new chief minister of Sindh comprises advisers and ministers who are relatives of powerful figures in politics and have feudal backgrounds.

Harsh feudalism has existed in rural Sindh for a long time. The poor people of the province have been facing difficulties at the hands of brutal lords for decades. They are the real hindrance in the way of development. The majority of people of Sindh are still facing the problems of lack of basic needs, such as food, shelter, health, education and clean water. I would suggest that Maula Bakhsh Chandio and his Sindh government pay attention to resolving the people’s problems immediately.
