It is hoped that the government will remain sincere in its efforts to improve healthcare in the province

LAHORE: Since the healthcare of our population is among the topmost priorities of the Punjab government, the news statement that a development scheme in the health sector with an estimated cost of Rs410.88 million has been approved by the government is welcomed. The approved development scheme includes the construction of a 100-bed Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif General Hospital in Multan.

Moreover, it is also praiseworthy to mention here that a third-party audit of health facilities is underway across the province and strict actions will be taken against those found guilty. It is hoped that the government will remain sincere in its efforts to improve healthcare in the province. Whatever has been done so far is good, but more needs to be done as the healthcare of masses is the need of the hour.
