CHITRAL: Continuous power outages and corruption in Drosh power station have added to the woes of people in the area. Many of them have been compelled to take to the streets.

After meeting locals who have been protesting since a week, Jamaat-e-Islami ameer Maulana Jamshed Ahmed held a news conference at Peshawar Press Club. On the occasion, Ahmed demanded the problems of people of Drosh should be resolved otherwise the situation would worsen.

He added Rs16.1 million has been spent on Drosh power station. However, people have yet to be provided access to electricity.

He criticised sub engineer Abrar at the power station for acting negligently, saying he has been mocking the miseries of locals over the last four years.
