After Google and Apple, Samsung is the latest tech giant to launch its own font.

Last week, Samsung unveiled SamsungOne, the new universal typeface for all Samsung devices. Customised font is becoming the latest trend companies are resorting to, to create a unique identity. Google already has the Roboto font family that reflects in many of their design applications while Apple has recently made San Francisco, its custom made font, as typeface on all its devices.

Following suit, Samsung also introduced its customised font. According to the company, SamsungOne is a unique font designed to help deliver a connected, universal experience for Samsung. SamsungOne sits at the heart of Samsung’s new visual language DNA, providing a typographic foundation for the future.

Keeping in mind the global presence of the company, the font family covers 26 writing systems and over 400 languages through 25,000 characters.

Letterforms are designed to work functionally at small sizes on smaller devices like smartphones, and dynamically at large sizes on its larger devices like connected TVs or refrigerators, as well as for Samsung's marketing and advertisement campaigns. Characters of SamsungOne are open and spacious aiding readability.
