MANCHESTER, UNITED KINGDOM: England were 98 for one in their second innings, a lead of 489 runs, at stumps on the third day of the second Test against Pakistan at Old Trafford on Sunday.



Alastair Cook, the England captain, was 49 not out and Joe Root 23 not out.

Pakistan lead the four-match series 1-0 after their 75-run win in the first Test at Lord's.
