Welfare: Wheelchairs distributed among disabled

MCCI president said people with disabilities were in no way second to other people

MULTAN:  

The Multan Chamber of Commerce and Industry has distributed 25 wheelchairs and five tricycles among special persons.

“Many people with disabilities are talented workers. They are willing and able to work,” said MCCI president Fareed Mughis Sheikh. He urged employers to consider the contributions such people could bring to the workplace. He said people with disabilities were in no way second to other people. “We should take them along,” Sheikh said.

He said provision of jobs to the handicapped could help check beggary.

MCCI senior vice president Mian Atta Shafi Tanvir said the Chamber was helping people with disabilities acquire skill so that they might find appropriate jobs. He said their efforts would continue in this regard.
