Access way in Shah Faisal Town

An unpaved throughway from under the bridge in Shah Faisal Town is dangerous as many end up being robbed there

KARACHI: Shah Faisal Town is a densely populated area of Karachi. It is home to over 4.5 million people. Numerous residents of Drigh Road Cantt Bazaar, Drigh Colony, Natha Khan Goth, Al Hyder Housing Society, Raita Plots and Pak Sadat Colony used to take a right turn at the Sharea Faisal-Natha Khan Bridge military gate (when heading towards the airport). After the placement of permanent barriers on that particular cut, however, the residents of the above-mentioned areas, which constitute 60 per cent of the entire town, are compelled to travel approximately six extra kilometres. Some people have discovered an unpaved throughway from under the bridge, which is extremely dangerous as many end up being robbed while using the shortcut.

The authorities must look into this matter immediately. The access way should be reopened or a proper road with lights and a Rangers’ check post established passing from under the bridge so that people can feel safe.
