QUETTA: Two gas pipelines and two oil tankers were blown up in Balochistan on Friday.

Unidentified persons attacked the gas pipelines in the the Loti and Bograh colony areas of Sui.

As a result, gas supply to the Sui plant was suspended.

Repair work was immediately started by a team of engineers from the plant.

The two oil tankers were torched at the Bolan Highway.

Balochistan is torn by militancy, sectarian violence and a separatist insurgency.

A 15-foot-long piece of pipeline carrying gas to Sindh was destroyed on the Sindh-Balochistan border last week. Nato tankers carrying fuel for American troops in Afghanistan have also been targeted. Last Friday, three Nato tankers were attacked in different parts of the province.

We need to speed up development work in Baluchistan. We all know that our beloved province is not given its fair share of its resources which is prompting negative sentiments. We need urgent actions and proper dialog to ensure peace and harmony. Pakistan cannot afford to loose one more wing like East Pakistan. We should learn from our experience and come forward to shake hand with Baluchis to rectify their issues.Recommend
