Torture allegations : Widow ‘expelled’ from house by in-laws  

They claimed to be the legitimate heirs of the house since their brother had no child, Nasreen said

TAXILA: A widow was allegedly subject to torture and thrown out of her husband’s house by in-laws in Wah on Tuesday.

Nasreen Bibi stated in the FIR that her husband died three years ago and she had been living in his house in Mohallah Malikabad in Nawababad area since then.

She said that her brothers-in-law – Muhammad Riaz, Rizwan, Ajmal, Zahid and Sabir – came and asked her to leave the house.

They claimed to be the legitimate heirs of the house since their brother had no child, Nasreen said.

She stated that on her refusal, they allegedly tortured her, dragged her out from the house and illegally occupied it.

Wah Saddar police registered a case against the nominated accused under sections 354, 452, 448/24 of Code of Criminal Procedure.

When contacted, Sub Inspector Muhammad Zarrat said that the main accused Sabir had been arrested, while raids were being conducted to take the remaining culprits in custody.
