Motorway Finance: AIIB extends $100m support

AIIB will provide $100 million as co-financing for the M-4 Motorway Shorkot-Khanewal Section

FRANKFURT: Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) President Jin Liqun said on Monday that the bank was willing to continue its support in the months to come in the shape of $100 million provision for infrastructure as Pakistan, after having achieved macro-economic stability, was poised to move to a higher trajectory of economic growth. Minister for Finance Mohammad Ishaq Dar met the AIIB president. Liqun congratulated the finance minister on the economic turnaround in Pakistan under the leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and his stewardship. He praised Pakistan’s rich potential in infrastructure sector and expressed his interest to finance infrastructure projects in Pakistan. “AIIB will provide $100 million as co-financing for the M-4 Motorway Shorkot-Khanewal Section,” he said.
