Corruption

Letter May 02, 2016
Unless we put corrupt persons behind bars, we will not root out corruption

DADU: Our country has a debt of billions of dollars. The country has been going backwards by the day due to corruption. Also, due to corruption, people have been facing cuts in gas supply and electricity outages for decades. Poor people cannot get their basic rights also because of corruption. Development projects are incomplete. In Sindh, both in urban and rural areas, many roads have not been repaired for decades. Education is also in a pathetic state and the budget allocation for education seems to have been usurped as school and college buildings remain in dilapidated conditions.

We are far behind other nations because of corruption. Unless we put corrupt persons behind bars, we will not root out corruption. Closed-circuit cameras should be installed everywhere in government offices to determine who is involved in corrupt practices. For a change, strict action should be taken against those found guilty. This is the only way to weed out corruption.
