Wherever we want to go, we must set our goals before selecting the right place and considering the right direction
ISLAMABAD: Everyone generally has an idea about their career goals, but we cannot diagnose what keeps us from achieving success. When we complete our education, we should further fine tune our goals. There are two things to consider when choosing a career. The first is, while studying, we should choose the right major for our target field. Secondly, upon completing our studies, we must choose the right field for ourselves. It is important to think about goals before, during and after obtaining our education because when we finish our programmes of study, many youngsters do not know what they want to do with their lives. In a limited economy in terms of opportunity and a restrictive job market, time is very important as the highly sought after positions fill up quickly and even entry level positions fill up fast because they are scarce in number.
Wherever we want to go, we must set our goals first, before selecting the right place and considering the right direction. If we jump too soon without careful reflection on our goals, the result may be failure. When one outlines proper goals and looks for ways to achieve them, he or she eventually ends up in the right place.
