Na-267: PTI-PML-N face-off in Jhal Magsi by-elections today

Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, Levies and police personnel would be deployed on the polling stations

The by-election for the NA-267 Jhal-Magsi constituency of the National Assembly will be held on Thursday (today).


The main contest is between Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Balochistan Organiser Sardar Yar Muhammad Rind and Pakistan Muslim League (PML-N) candidate Mir Khalid Magsi.


The Provincial Election Commissioner Sultan Bayazid told reporters that Pakistan Army, Frontier Corps, Levies and police personnel would be deployed on the polling stations to avert any untoward incident in the volatile constituency which comprises Kachi and Jhal Magsi districts of Naseerabad division.


Bayazid said that 165 polling stations have been set up in the area and 900 electoral workers have been deployed to 273 polling booths. Around 1,100 personnel of army and FC would perform duties during the polling.
