Security issues

Pakistanis have been facing security threats in terms of terrorism, poverty, unemployment, inflation and health

RAWALPINDI: Life is getting insecure in Pakistan — more than it’s ever been before. There was a time when Pakistan was a peaceful country but now it has converted into a hub of terrorism and violence. Pakistanis have been facing countless security threats in terms of terrorism, poverty, unemployment, inflation and health.

In the past couple years, millions of people have been killed due to suicide bombings and targeted killings. On the other hand, people are also dying of hunger due to the ridiculous inflation. Students are toiling hard to acquire higher education but it’s unfortunate that we often hear cases of them committing suicide due to unemployment and failure to be able to support their families. Health issues are also emerging in various areas of Pakistan.

Here, the question arises — why is Pakistan declining to such a degree, day after day? Why is the life of a common man not secure in Pakistan? Why do most of us fear walking alone on the streets at night? Why are Pakistanis hunting for opportunities to move towards the West in order to secure their future?

The answer to all these questions is: our poor governance system, authoritarian attitude of our ruling classes, corruption and insecurity. All the governments in Pakistan focus on their own agendas rather than focusing on the prosperity of the nation. Corruption is rife. Educated Pakistanis are finding it hard to get jobs on merit. Medical services in government hospitals are highly unsatisfactory and the poor cannot afford private hospitals. Above all, terrorists are destroying the youth of Pakistan.

There is a dire need to set things right. We should always aim at a prosperous Pakistan.
