NADRA inefficiency

Letter February 13, 2016
Is it safe to assume that a prestigious department like NADRA has also fallen by the wayside?

USA: My wife applied for a NICOP more than eight weeks ago. We are still waiting for the NICOP despite NADRA’s claim that the entire process takes no longer than three to four weeks. Moreover, NADRA is now saying that it may take several more months before the application is processed. I have called the NADRA office in Islamabad more than a dozen times and e-mailed multiple times as well. In return, we were requested by NADRA officials to stop calling or e-mailing them as they already possess all necessary documents.

All my wife’s documents, including her proof of birth in Pakistan, Pakistani passport, American passport, her old Pakistani CNIC, Pakistan Origin Card (cancelled now) and her father’s CNIC are with NADRA.

Now my question to NADRA is: is it asking me to take different channels to speed up the process? Is it safe to assume that a prestigious department like NADRA has also fallen by the wayside?
