Pakistan Railways on track

Pakistan Railways police retrieving land worth Rs40 million is a great achievement

FAISALABAD: This refers to the February 2 news report about Pakistan Railways police retrieving land worth Rs40 million. This is a great achievement. The Minister of Railways, Saad Rafiq, is possibly the most successful minister in the PML-N government’s cabinet. My hometown, Kunri, is located in district Umerkot in Sindh. Currently, I live with my family in Faisalabad since I am employed here and we have to visit our hometown occasionally. During the preceding PPP-ANP regime, the Pakistan Railways was in a severe financial and management crisis, which made travelling by train a tall order. We often ended up travelling to my hometown by road.

The performance of this department has now improved significantly with the public being provided better services. Trains reach their destinations within the given time schedule. The fares of trains are also reasonable in contrast with bus services.
