The forgotten people of Kacho

Letter February 04, 2016
The government has paid no attention to the problems of the people in the Kacho Wahi Pandhi areas of Sindh

DADU: The government has paid no attention to the problems of the people in the Kacho Wahi Pandhi areas of Sindh. Kacho is located in the lap of the Kirthar mountain in Dadu district. The people’s main sources of income are through cattle and farming. The success of their farming endeavours depends on rainfall because there is no canal in the vicinity and the land is barren and unsuitable for installing tube wells.

Tube wells installed previously at a depth of 300 to 400 feet failed to produce water for irrigation. The people of Kacho have no healthcare, education or clean water for drinking. The MPAs and other political leaders have forgotten the people of the area and I hereby appeal to the government on their behalf to provide basic needs for them.

Abdul Salam
