Designer duo Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana drew inspiration from their Spring 2016 collection as it channels their Sicilian spirit with printed daisies, lemons and lush red roses.
“I’m really fascinated with the Middle East and we’ve just completed a prêt-a-porter collection of abayas and sheylas.” Stefano had said in an interview with The National at the couture extravaganza in Italy last year. “Pieces have some lace, embroidery and some prints – but not too much.
The limited edition collection of abayas and hijabs come in sheer georgette and satin weave charmeuse fabrics and include copious lace details along hems. The debut collection also features lightweight, dramatic drape and special occasion overlays that epitomize the luxury associated with the Arab world.
