Ishq Positive’s music sees light of day

Launch ceremony features performances by Ustad Hamid Ali Khan and other singers

Actor Noor’s directorial debut Ishq Positive has been in limbo for months. A cloud of rumours had encircled the otherwise promising project that is also seeing the acting debut of singer Wali Hamid Ali Khan. Seems all that has now cleared and the film is en route in the right direction.


Noor and Co put together the film’s music launch at a star-studded ceremony held at the Summit Hall of Royal Palm. Talking about the film, Noor said 80% of the work is already wrapped up and hoped the audiences will appreciate the efforts of the team behind Ishq Positive. She also announced the commencement of the film’s promotion campaign.

“It’s my debut film and I have given it my 100%,” said Wali. He added they are trying their best to keep the film in accordance with the current standards. “We will also arrange music launches in other big cities. We plan on going to Karachi soon.” The actor-singer said despite being on a limited budget, the team has pulled off a project that will play a key role in the revival of cinema in Lahore.

Wali is the son of singing legend Ustad Hamid Ali Khan and part of the band Raga Boyz. Other prominent cast members include Saud, Saim Ali, Ahmed Ali, Faria Bukhari and Durdana Butt. The film has been produced by US-based Dr Shazia Latif and Kashif Latif while Wali, Kamran Akhtar and Saji Ali have helmed the film’s soundtrack. The lyrics have majorly been penned by Indian lyricist A. M. Turaz.

The launch was graced by the presence of Ustad Hamid and among several others. Both have lent their voices to the film’s soundtrack and performed their respective tracks, much to the applause of the attendees that included several celebrities like Meera, Amanat Ali, Fia Khan, Noman Jawed, Tony and Ahmed Ali Butt. Wali also performed his track alongside upcoming singer Damia Farooq. Moreover, Raga Boyz performed their hit Bollywood number Mann Kunto Maula.

Teasers of tracks Dil Ka Panchi, Rab Diyaan Rab and Aja Main Sikhadon Tujhay Dance were also screened. The event was hosted by model Natasha Hussain who kept the audience entertained with her jovial talking.

Ishq Positive is slated for an April 2016 release.
