PESHAWAR:

Speaker of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Asad Qaiser said a ceremony will be held at Army Public School on December 16 to commemorate the first anniversary of the massacre.

He was addressing an executive-level meeting held at the Assembly Secretariat on Thursday. The event was attended by K-P Government Spokesperson and Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Mushtaq Ghani, DC Riaz Mehsud and various representatives of Shuhada Ghazi Forum.

“The provincial government will be actively involved in the ceremony,” he said.

Participants mutually decided to celebrate the first anniversary of the APS attack by remembering victims of the massacre.

“A peace walk will be held on the morning of December 16,” he said. Educational institutes across the province will observe a prayer in memory of the APS victims.

According to Qaiser, the government has also decided to rename Peshawar Archives and Public Library to pay tribute to the children and teachers who lost their lives in the heinous attack.
