KARACHI/ SHARJAH: Pakistan were beaten in the super over as England completed the Twenty20 series whitewash on late Thursday in Sharjah.

Pakistan scored 154 to level scores with England after a heroic batting display from Shoaib Malik (75).

Chris Jordan bowled the super over to Shahid Afridi and Umar Akmal who could only manage three runs off six balls.

Eoin Morgan and Jos Buttler came in to chase the four-run target in the super over and managed it on the fifth ball.

Morgan hit the ball towards long-on, the throw came in but Anwar Ali was not able to bag the ball and England won the third match to beat Pakistan 3-0.

Man of the match Shoaib Malik: I would have been happy if we would have won. We did makes mistakes but we came hard in this match. I tried to clear the boundary at long-on but couldn't. We need to work on different areas. I think being a senior cricketers I need to bowl as well. Its my responsibility to do whatever the team requires of me.

Man of the series James Vince: Its pleasing to contribute to wins. Its nice to get an opportunity and I enjoyed every bit of it.

Shahid Afridi: I must give credit to England team. They did well in UAE conditions. We missed the opportunity. We didn't bowl well in the last five overs. Shoaib has set the example for others. I think England is a world-class team. A lot of positives have come out of this series. Jordan really bowled well, yorkers and fuller deliveries. Credit goes to him for bowling that great super over.

Eoin Morgan: Its really has been a good tour for us. Jordan's yorkers made it easy for us. We have a privilege to having a great domestic structure so we need to bring the players on and get them into the grind. We don't focus on ICC ranking, more important is to develop a good team.

SUPER OVER: England 4-0 (Target: 4 runs)

Two runs taken! Anwar Ali misses the throw and England take two. They just chased Pakistan down to a whitewash in the super over. This is the best T20 fight that you can ever see.

Single taken.

Dot ball to start and single on the second. Afridi needs to crack the wickets. Another dot follows. Three off three now. Buttler faces Afridi.

Sohail Tanvir has the ball right now. And in come captain Eoin Morgan and Jos Buttler. Oh wait Afridi has taken the ball in his own hands now. Captain to captain now.

SUPER OVER: Pakistan 4-0

No fire crackers for Pakistan. Umar Akmal bowled on the last ball. Fantastic yorkers from Chris Jordan.

Another single! Afridi on and he has to go big. Instead he gets only a single! Three runs off four balls. Umar now.

Single taken! Umar on strike!

Dot ball through Afridi's legs.

Shahid Afridi and Umar Akmal will play the super over. Chris Jordan to bowl. (Rules: Two batsman out means innings is over.)

PAK 154-6 (20 overs)

One ball, two runs... Single taken, scores are ties and its a super over is in play now. Will Afridi walk in once again?

OUT! Caught at long-on. Malik could have finished it right there. Missed by a few feet. Anwar Ali is in and they must have crossed! Sohail to face with 2 needed off one ball.

Single taken. An important one. One to draw, two to win off 2 balls.

Slow ball on off and Sohail misses it. Dot ball. 3 off 3 now.

SIX! A classy shot from Sohail Tanvir. He is happy with it. It was an effortless shot. Pakistan favourites to avoid the whitewash now.

Single off the first ball. 9 off 5 needed.

11 off 6 needed. Malik to face Chris Woakes.

PAK 145-6 (19 overs)

Single off the last ball.

FOUR! Wide on off and Malik just falls into the edge. Third man and boundary.

Dot ball. Malik tries to hit it hard and just bumps it back to the bowler. Malik changes his gloves. This situation is surely supposed to give you sweaty palms.

Another single. Malik is back. Pakistan need a boundary here. Where is he going to go?

Full-toss and Malik plays into the off-side. Single taken!

Sohail gets a single to bring Malik on.

Jordan to bowl the penultimate over. Its make or break for any team in this over.

PAK 137-6 (18 overs)

FOUR! This time he slam-pulls it towards leg. Pakistan very much in the match now, need just 18 off 12 balls.

FOUR! Beautifully cut past the point fielder. Malik needs to finish it for Pakistan today.

BOWLED! Shahid Afridi tries to chip a leggish delivery but the slower ball dislodges his bail. Sohail Tanvir is in now.

Two singles off first two balls.

Willey again.

PAK 126-5 (17 overs)

FOUR! Full-toss hit powerfully square on off-side. Vince dives but couldn't stop the cracker from Malik.

Chris Jordan bowls now.

PAK 115-5 (16 overs)

SIX! Out of the park, out of the stadium and out of the cricket forever. This ball would never be brought back to life after that venomous and gigantic hit from Afridi.

David Willey brought back to stop the Malik, Afridi storm.

PAK 104-5 (15 overs)

FIFTY up for Malik off 39 balls. An important knock from the veteran.

FOUR! Malik gets a boundary off an inside edge. Balls runs down to the fine leg boundary.

PAK 92-5 (14 overs)

SIX! Shoaib Malik walks down, converts it into a full-toss and clears the long-on boundary. England under pressure by the veterans.

SIX! Afridi goes for the slog sweep.

Moeen Ali.

PAK 78-5 (13 overs)

FOUR! Malik step forward and slams one straight. Rashid get a foot to it but the power takes it past the converging long-on and long-off fielders.

SIX! Afridi misses a top-spinner and then whacks it over midwicket. He didn't seem pleased with the ball spinning so much.

Adil Rashid.

PAK 67-5 (12 overs)

OUT! Umar Akmal caught at midwicket by a diving Jordan. Another irresponsible shot. And guess who has come on to bat? The man himself Shahid Afridi. Captain has taken the responsibility to finish it himself today.

Moeen Ali.

PAK 65-4 (11 overs)

SIX! Malik dances down the pitch and clears the long-on boundary.

Rashid again.

PAK 55-4 (10 overs)

Just three runs off Moeen Ali's over.

Will Umar Akmal's luck turn today? He was unlucky twice in the first two T20s. He joins Malik.

PAK 52-4 (9 overs)

OUT! Caught and bowl by Rashid. But the umpires want to have another look at it. The ball seems to be touching the grass. Yes, it is not out! Oh wait! Third umpire thinks its taken! Umpire signals out. This is going to stir some headlines in tomorrow's papers.

Adil Rashid again.

PAK 50-3 (8 overs)

Just four runs off the over.

Moeen Ali to start from the other end.

PAK 46-3 (7 overs)

Spinner on. Six runs off Adil Rashid's over.

PAK 40-3 (6 overs)

FOURx3! Muhammad Rizwan trying his very best to bring the asking rate down.

Chris Jordan.

PAK 26-3 (5 overs)

Five runs off the over.

Chris Woakes.

PAK 21-3 (4 overs)

FOUR! Malik has had it. Walks down the pitch and bisects the cover fielders.

Chris Jordan has been given the ball now.

PAK 15-3 (3 overs)

FOUR! Rizwan walks in and he knows what Pakistan need right now. Drives it through covers.

LBW! Rafatullah wastes his third chance as well. Shuffles across. Ball hits his leg and runs down leg. Umpire raises his finger slowly. This seems to end soon today.

David Willey again.

PAK 10-2 (2 overs)

Just a single off the over.

Chris Woakes shares the new ball with Willey. Meanwhile, Shoaib Malik joins Rafatullah.

PAK 9-2 (1 over)

RUN OUT! What is the problem with Hafeez? What is he always thinking? Is this an international team? No words for the blunders that he commits. This time he is the victim of his own act.

BOWLED! And the misery continues for Pakistan. Shehzad is gone. Ball swings in, and Shehzad plays it by dancing down the pitch without judging it.

FOUR! On Shehzad's legs and he glances it sweetly past short fine leg.

Ahmed Shehzad and Rafatullah Mohmand are out there to open for Pakistan. David Willey, meanwhile has the ball for England.

Sohail Tanvir to bowl the last over.

ENG 146-6 (19 overs)

FOUR! Irfan couldn't resist the temptation. Bowls length and gets hit towards leg. Vince this time!

Muhammad Irfan for the penultimate over. Can he try not to get hit for a boundary? Yorkers needed.

ENG 133-6 (18 overs)

SIX! A yorker which is wide. Fair enough! But Woakes hits it into the stands, not fair!

SIX! This one has literally gone out of the park. This is what happens when you bowl length balls in the last overs of a T20. You have to call the umpire with a new set of balls.

Anwar Ali.

ENG 117-6 (17 overs)

DROPPED! Mis-hit takes the ball high up in the air square on off-side. Three fielders converge, Anwar Ali gives the call to take it but puts it down.

SIX! That was a full-length delivery and these should be treated as it was. Launched over extra-cover by Woakes.

Muhammad Irfan is back now. He hasn't been able to do what he was brought in the team for to take wickets. Can he strike now?

ENG 105-6 (16 overs)

Five runs off his last over. He finishes with another impressive spell today. Four overs, 19 runs and two wickets.

Shahid Afridi into his fourth and last over.

ENG 100-6 (15 overs)

ENG 92-6 (14 overs)

Four runs off the over.

You wouldn't have forgotten this one?

Six runs off Shahid Afridi's over.

ENG 82-5 (12 overs)

Six runs off Shahid Afridi's over.

ENG 76-5 (11 overs)

RUN OUT! That was another one of Muhammad Rizwan's heroic fielding efforts. He is turning out to be the Jhonty Rhodes of Pakistan. And he has got the big man Jos Buttler for only two runs.

Muhammad Irfan is back from round the wicket now.

ENG 73-4 (10 overs)

BOWLED! Morgan repeats his dismissal in the third ODI against Pakistan. Misjudges the spin on the ball and looks disappointingly at his broken stumps.

Shoaib Malik.

ENG 68-3 (9 overs)

SIX! Morgan steps forward, Anwar bowls it short but England captain chips it over midwicket. Timing and elevation!

Anwar Ali.

ENG 57-3 (8 overs)

Six runs off his over.

Afridi in for his second over.

ENG 51-3 (7 overs)

Just three runs off the over.

Immediately Shahid Afridi gives the ball to Anwar Ali. New batsmen in is captain Eoin Morgan who joins Vince.

ENG 48-3 (6 overs)

CAUGHT AND BOWL! Moeen Ali gives it nicely back to Afridi. Lala is turning the magic back on for Pakistan.

BOWLED! And this is what Afridi does when he is angry. Joe Root misses the faster one and walks back to the pavillion without even looking at the woodwork.

Shahid Afridi comes on to bowl now.

ENG 46-1 (5 overs)

FOUR! Midwicket this time. Ball beats Anwar Ali to the boundary. Vince accounts for this one.

FOUR! Root is playing Buttler here. Steps forward and goes big over mid-off's head.

Sohail Tanvir again.

ENG 33-1 (4 overs)

FOUR! Root goes towards extra cover this time. Launched high but it does not cover the complete distance.

SIX! Short ball to a short batsman, Joe Root, dispatched towards leg side.

The tall giant is back and he has the ball now. Muhammad Irfan with the ball for Pakistan.

ENG 21-1 (3 overs)

FOUR! Two steps down the pitch and the ball is timed nicely towards midwicket. The fielder is not able to dive in time to stop it at short midwicket. James Vince adds a boundary to his name.

FOUR! Wide on off and driven square on the off-side nicely by Joe Root.

Yamin again. He is shaping the ball into the batsmen.

ENG 11-1 (2 overs)

That is a big over for England. Ten runs off it.

Sohail Tanvir to bowl the second over. Starts with a wide.

ENG 3-1 (1 over)

Aamer Yamin opens the bowling for Pakistan and he STRIKES! Immediately the debutante has shown his intent. The ball seamed in and the all-so-promising Jason Roy is gone, first ball, LBW. James Vince is going to open with Joe Root now.

Toss: Pakistan have yet again lost the toss and they are going to bowl first. Aamer Yamin, Muhammad Rizwan and Muhammad Irfan are included in the team. Wahab Riaz, Sohaib Maqsood and Imran Khan Jr will sit out today.

N K Ali | 8 years ago | Reply Is this the inspiration of Shahid Afridi??? Is this his experience and gameplay??? No more of Waqar Younis!!! No more Umar Akmal and Sohail Tanveer? Three catches in three matches is worse than playing gilli dunda. Salams
Babloo | 8 years ago | Reply Well played Afridi. He has silenced all critics with a terrific all round performance. He has created another World record now- Highest Wicket taker in T20 history. He has moved to 6th position in ICC T20 bowlers rankings and no 2 in the All Rounders Rankings. He entertained the crowd and don't forget the stadium was lit up just because of him. Don't let him retire PCB please! As WWE COO HHH does what is best for business, PCB should also analyse that Afridi single handedly can Earn Crores for them by great ticket sales, Tv endorsements etc. He is best for business and don't forget cricket is not merely a game now. It's an entertainment program where the crowd wants to have fun. You cannot remove Afridi, else PC B will suffer huge loses
