Vivo X60 Pro Review

Vivo X60 Pro is the 'Professional" variant of this series
Vivo X60 Pro Review

At the time of writing, there are six different devices in the vivo X60 series, and vivo isn't making things any simpler by releasing multiple handsets with the same name in China and the rest of the world. The X60 Pro is what we have for you today. Let's have a look at its features.

Color & Price:

Shimmer Blue is the alternative hue for the X60 Pro, and it's one of those paint jobs that you can't really label a single color. It can be anything from cyan to magenta to copper depending on the angle you look at it from. Aside from that, it's the same frosted glass. This model by Vivo is priced at 129,999 at present in Pakistan and falls under the high-budget category.

Camera:

The phone's primary sensor will be 48 megapixels, while the secondary sensor will be 13 megapixels. The third will be 13 megapixels, while the fourth will be 8 megapixels. The selfie camera on the front will be 32 megapixels.

The X60 Pro's daylight shots are noticeably saturated - it's the thing that jumps out at you even from the thumbnails. We'd argue that lowering color saturation would be preferable, but we see why Vivo would want to aim for a more generally appealing, vibrant design.

The color saturation of the X60 Pro's 48MP photographs isn't as high and noise is more visible. There isn't enough detail gain to justify utilizing the nominal resolution mode.

RAM & Storage:

The RAM capacity of the Vivo Pro is 12 gigabytes, which is often seen in high-end smartphones from most firms. However, the company's maker included it in the Vivo X60 Pro to attract users' attention. The device's internal storage capacity will be 256 gigabytes. This is a significant quantity of storage space, allowing the device's user to save a large amount of data for future use.

Display:

If the presentation wasn't enough to convince you that you're dealing with a high-end smartphone, the device itself does the rest. A slim glass-aluminum handset with curved display edges, a frosted back with a serious-looking and to-the-point camera island, and the bare minimum of text to draw unnecessary attention, plus the tiniest of Zeiss logos - it's a design language vivo got right with the X50 series, and it hasn't changed much for this generation.

The X60 Pro's front is dominated by a 6.56-inch AMOLED full HD display that has all kinds of good things going for it. All of the bezels are thin, with the bottom one being somewhat thicker than the others. The screen's side edges curve gently into the frame so, softly that no color change occurs at the extremes.

Battery:

The vivo X60 Pro has a 4200mAh battery, which might sound a little less considering when 5,000mAh seems to be the standard and competitors start at 4500mAh for lesser priced phones than this one.

All of this should act as a preface to the X60 Pro's battery life, which is good but nothing extra ordinary. That is to say, when not used for video playback, a single charge will last for 20 hours. Because it defaults to a 60Hz refresh rate for full screen video playing regardless of software, that's the only result we have, and it's a good one.

In comparison to the 55W Super Flash Charge 2.0 unit found in the Vivo X60 Pro+, the Vivo X60 Pro comes with a proprietary 33W charger dubbed Flash Charge 2.0.

Processor/Chipset:

This smartphone is powered by a 3.2GHz Octa-Core processor. The Snapdragon 870 5G (7 nm) chipset will power the Vivo X60 Pro. It is one of the most powerful chipsets available for flagship smartphones, and its performance is excellent.

Extra Features:

The X60 Pro runs Android 11 with the Fun Touch 11 layer on top, a combination we're already familiar with thanks to the V20, which debuted with Android 11 in October of last year. The phone's software is based on Android 11; therefore, it has all of the Android 11 features built in. For example, notifications are now organized into categories, making it easier to find 'Conversations' from messaging applications among the clutter.

The curved edges of both the front and back glass panels result in an extremely small exposed frame on the sides. On the right, the knurled power button is just above the middle, and the volume rocker is above it, with the two physical controls in a sculpted, slightly recessed portion of the frame. Both buttons are made of metal and have a positive click. We’d suggest they could have been a little broader for better utility, but the frame thickness, or rather thinness, wouldn't have allowed it.

There's a thorough notification history in case you accidentally dismiss something. Bubbles (a Messenger-like chat heads feature), improved permission management, a built-in screen recorder, and a totally revamped power menu are among the other major Android 11 innovations.

Pros & Cons:

Although the charging speed is great, there are faster alternatives available. The X60 pro also features one of the smallest batteries available. However, there is an obvious generational improvement, which is noticeable and great.
