Subsidiary of Vivo has launched its new Flagship
Vivo iQoo 9 Review

The subsidiary brand of Vivo has launched a flagship smartphone that competes with the big brands like OnePlus, Realme and Xiaomi. IQoo is yet to step into Pakistani market but the repute of this brand is very good in international market even though it has been solely releasing its phone in Indian market.

Pice & Colors:

This phone is available in 3 colors, black, orange and white with BMW M Branding. This model of iQoo 9 comes in three variants, one being 8GB/128GB with being priced at around Rs.122,999 where as the 12GB/256GB variant is priced at around Rs. 111,999. And 12GB/512GB price in Pakistan is around Rs.133,999.

Camera:

The camera setup on the iQoo 9 is amazing. The back of this phone holds a triple camera setup that includes a 50-megapixel wide camera that features PDAF and OIS; a second camera features a 13-megapixel ultra-wide lens, and finally a 12-megapixel telephoto macro sensor with 2x optical zoom. The back camera setup features a dual-LED dual-tone flash, HDR and panorama. The main camera can shoot a 4K video at 30FPS, a 1080p video at 30FPS, and the video features a gyro-EIS that stabilizes the video and makes it smoother.

Now when it comes to camera, the quality and the features are phenomenal, but the video department lacks behind. This phone should at least record an 8K video or a 4K video with different FPS. The front camera features a 16-megapixel wide lens that comes with HDR and can record a 1080p video at 30 FPS. The front camera also features a gyro-EIS for video stabilization. The front camera also has video stabilization, but it feels like that the iQoo should have gone with a 32-megapixel front camera. 16 MP is very low when compared to Xiaomi.

RAM & Storage:

IQoo 9 gives users a vast majority of options in RAM and storage. The IQoo 9 comes with 128 GB of internal memory with 8 GB of RAM. The second option is 256GB of storage with 8GB of RAM and lastly a variant with 256GB flash memory with 12GB of RAM. This type of phone released gives an option to the users to choose according to their feasibility and it also gives users many price options. Now, this phone doesn’t come with a slot for microSD, which means that the internal storage of this phone is not expandable, which is understood now that almost every flagship phone doesn’t have a microSD slot available.

Display:

The front panel includes a 6.78 inch AMOLED display and supports 120Hz refresh rate, which is the highest display specs in a flagship phone. AMOLED display when compared with OLED display is much better as with includes an additional layer of TFTs. The 120Hz refresh rate will make the display much smoother and will provide a better user experience. The display can support a 1080 x 2400p resolution, but the pixels density is a little disappointing; 388 ppi-density is less than compared with Xiaomi and Realme flagship smartphones. iQoo should’ve considered a 400 ppi for their flagships.

Battery:

Inside the back hood this phone contains a 4,700mAh Li-Po non-removable battery that comes with a 120 watt fast charging and according to the iQoo this phone can charge up to 100% in just 19 minutes. Also, the charging system in this phone features a 10 watt reverse wireless charging, which is an amazing feature to have in a phone.

Processor/Chipset:

Now when it comes to the chipset and processors, the iQoo 9 comes with Android 12 built-in operating system and OriginOS Ocean UI. The best Qualcomm chipset, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 is present in the back of the hood. The iQoo 9 has an octa-core processor that can clock up to 3.00 GHz, which is the fastest processor on the flagship phones. This whole combination makes this phone super-fast and reliable and makes this company compete with other flagships, and it even beats the Realme GT2, which was recently released.

Extra Features:

Vivo has released its flagships and mid-budget phones in Pakistan with big branding and promotion so it will be interesting to see if Vivo has any plans of launching iQoo in future. IQoo 9 was announced on 5th January in Chinese markets and later on 12th January was available for the users. This phone weighs 206g and the dimensions of this phone are 164.5 x 76.7 x 8.4 mm. This phone weighs a little heavier than Xiaomi 12, which comes with almost the same specifications. The IQoo 9 is a 5G enabled phone and supports dual SIM system.

Pros & Cons:

Now, the price of the iQoo 9 is about 560 EUR, which is considerable, but when compared with Xiaomi 12, this price seems a little higher. Xiaomi 12 costs about 510 EUR, which is not very low but it makes a difference also the Xiaomi 12 comes with 32MP front camera and 50W wireless charging and reverse charging, but then again iQoo has a bigger battery and the telephoto lens is better. As for users, this phone will be smooth and efficient and can run heavy apps and games with multitasking.
