Xiaomi was initially not recognized for its marketing efforts. Customers' word of mouth was utilized to sell the company's phones. Years later, the manufacturer is no longer the startup that it once was. It currently sells its product through both online and offline marketing. One of these advertisements has resulted in a fine for the company.
Xiaomi was fined $3,141 (PKR 550,000) for fraudulent advertising in its own country, according to a report by ITHome. The Chinese government's market supervision department issued this penalty for breaking the "Advertising Law of the People's Republic of China."
The manufacturer made an error in a banner ad for the Redmi K30 5G on Tmall last year. The smartphone will have a 'Samsung AMOLED display,' according to the advertising picture. The smartphone, on the other hand, has an LCD panel.
It appears that the individual in charge of the banner advertisement failed to double-check the final image. Whoever made this error may have been puzzled by the specifications of the Redmi K30 Pro 5, that it has a Samsung Display AMOLED display when it did not.
Xiaomi clearly did not intend to misrepresent their then best-selling 5G smartphone at the time causing huge loss to the company.
