When it comes to quick charging technologies, Chinese phone manufacturers have always been ahead of the pack. Phones from Xiaomi, Vivo, and a few other brands include 120W rapid charging, which can fully charge a dead battery (4,500 mAh) in about 15-20 minutes.
Of course, Xiaomi and Oppo are working hard to achieve 200W fast charging speeds in the near future. According to reputable tipster Digital Chat Station, the two Chinese companies want to market the technology shortly. This suggests that 200-watt fast charging will be available in Xiaomi/Oppo phones shortly, or at the very least chargers that can handle it.
On the Mi 11 Pro last year, Xiaomi showcased 200-watt rapid charging capabilities. The test demonstrated that 20-watt rapid charging technology can fully charge a 4,000 mAh battery in about 8 minutes. The battery was able to charge to 50% in about 3 minutes and 10% in just 44 seconds.
For the time being, there is no official announcement on when Xiaomi would introduce 200-watt fast charging to its smartphones and chargers. Older leaks, on the other hand, claimed that the Chinese brand planned to mass-produce it in the second quarter of 2022.
In 2021, Oppo began mass-producing 125-watt fast charging technology; however, it is unclear when the firm would introduce 200-watt fast charging.
