Multiple phones have exploded in India in recent times, including the OnePlus Nord 2 and the Poco M3, which caught fire earlier this month. Now, a new incidence of a Realme XT catching fire has surfaced.
Another Realme XT has exploded while being used, according to 91mobiles. In June 2020, a similar event using the same model occurred. Sandip Kundu, a Twitter user, shared photos of the burned Realme XT in question, which belonged to a friend.
As per the Twitter user, his friend's Realme XT smartphone exploded while being it was being used. His pictures show a badly distorted and burned back, with the side panel totally burned away. The display also suffered burn damage, as seen by the pixel bleed visible on the screen. It appears to have been a blast that began in the battery.
Fortunately, the owner of the smartphone had no injuries or losses other than some burned bedding. After the initial blast, the Twitter user also tweeted a video of his phone burning on his bed.
"We would like to notify you that we have already contacted the guy and also we have advised him to attend the nearest authorized repair center," Realme's social media account published this statement. Please know that as soon as he sees us, we will do everything we can to address his issue."
The reason for the occurrence is yet unknown, but the regularity of such incidents is causing concern among Realme users.
