A new analysis has released some intriguing data on the 5G Android smartphone industry. In recent years, the industry has experienced rapid expansion, with Realme claiming the title of fastest growing brand in the market.
The Chinese smartphone brand grew by 831 percent in the third quarter of this year, according to a Counterpoint Research survey. Its strong success in India, China, and Europe accounted for the significant increase. According to Counterpoint, the brand even managed to outperform the market, with 5G smartphone sales increasing 831 percent year over year, much above the global rate of 121 percent.
"Realme's excellent multi-channel approach and a large 5G portfolio across price-bands helped it grow the quickest," said Varun Mishra, Senior Director at Counterpoint. "Our objective is to assist at least 100 million young people across the world enjoy the benefits given by 5G technology with 5G powered smartphones at the heart," said Sky Li, the company's CEO and Founder.
The firm is now the world's fifth largest Android smartphone manufacturer. To put it another way, the company's entire success may be ascribed to its significant concentration on 5G technology. Realme has put a lot of money into research and development for 5G devices while also trying to broaden its product line. Despite being a "new" firm in comparison to some of its competitor tech giants, it managed to secure a 15.5 percent global 5G phone market share in the second quarter of 2021.
