By the end of the year, Qualcomm normally announces its newest flagship chips at its Snapdragon Summit conference. This event generally takes place in December, although it could occur earlier than usual this year.

The tip-off comes from Qualcomm itself, who recently revised the Snapdragon Summit event page. The event will take place from November 14 to November 17, according to the page, and as flagship SoCs are introduced on the first day, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 may be made public on November 14.

This Qualcomm processor might be the first to introduce a brand-new CPU cluster. It is anticipated that the configuration would change from the standard 1 + 3 + 4 core design to 1 + 2 + 2 + 3. It is uncertain whether it will result in any performance gains.

The business will preview its forthcoming flagship phones powered by the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 during the event, along with OEM partners from Qualcomm including Xiaomi. The Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro, which are anticipated to become official at the end of December, should be the case in the case of Xiaomi.

The Snapdragon 8cx 3's successor, a mobile CPU built for laptops and a competitor to Apple's M1 SoC, may also be shown. For this chipset, Qualcomm is anticipated to remain with TSMC's 4nm node.

Additionally, TSMC is anticipated to work on Apple's 3nm-based M2 Pro and M2 Max CPUs. It's unlikely that Qualcomm will use this chip manufacturing technique until the following year.
