In the early days of December 2021, the Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL) and Ufone (a subsidiary of PTCL) joined hands in signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Huawei Technologies Pakistan, with the objective of providing its employees with learning and development initiatives.
The ceremony, held in Islamabad, included Mr. Syed Mazhar Hussain, who is the Group Chief Human Resource Officer for PTCL & Ufone, and Mr. Ahmed Bilal Masud, who serves as the Deputy CEO of Huawei Technologies Pakistan.
These were not the only major stakeholders. Some of the more prominent figures in the crowd included Mr. Hatem Bamatraf, who is the current President and the Group CEO of PTCL & Ufone, and Mr. Mark Meng, the current CEO of Huawei Technologies Pakistan. The crowd also included participation by higher management from both corporations.
The primary target of this MoU is to ensure that the employees of PTCL and Ufone undergo a productive phase of learning and development that will be beneficial for their personal as well as professional growth. Furthermore, it also fortifies the newly founded partnership between PTCL Group and Huawei that will help both organizations move towards a common goal.
Mr. Hatem Bamatraf was very vocal regarding the PTCL Group’s commitment, saying, "PTCL and Ufone are always dedicated towards embracing innovative and emerging technologies and programs. Our strategic alliance with Huawei is yet another step for the professional growth and evolution of our people. "
He went on to add, "I am positive that the initiative will enable our employees to bring greater efficiency, revolution, and productivity to the organization." He further stated that, "Employee development is a core priority for PTCL Group as we consider our employees our greatest strength and will continue to invest in their development in the future."
Mr. Mark Meng, the CEO of Huawei Technologies Pakistan, also participated in sharing his views about the benefits of this new initiative, stating, "We are proud to partner with PTCL & Ufone for this prudent and digital learning and development journey of its employees."
He further shared his views on how these initiatives ensure an opportunity for employees to learn about their work more effectively. He further added how Huawei, through its digitally empowered projects, is taking steps to ensure a fully connected and intelligent world. This ensures that PTCL is dedicated in working towards a Digital Pakistan and is willing to play a role in enhancing the skills of its workforce.
