OnePlus' flagship smartphones received an update to Android 12 in the form of OxygenOS 12 software. The system update, however, proved to be unreliable and full of faults, forcing OnePlus to withdraw the upgrade.

Problems were not restricted to bugs. Google Camera ports and other modified applications were unable to access the phone's secondary cameras. This was a major issue for many users, as Google Camera is known to increase image quality greatly above the standard camera software on many phones.

In the new release of OxygenOS 12, OnePlus has publicly announced that they are attempting to restore access to secondary cameras. According to XDA Developers, OnePlus officials posted on the official forum stating they have received input on bugs and concerns with the previously issued upgrade . Now the developers are working quickly to correct the issues and provide a patch as soon as possible. The next update will also solve "temporary lack of access to Ultra HD 48M mode in GCam," according to OnePlus. A patch for Google Camera's malfunction should be available soon.
