Digital Chat Station, a well-known tipster, predicts that the Redmi K50 series will get a brand-new variant this year, the K50 Ultra. Users upgraded to the Redmi K40 Pro+ last year, but it looks like we'll get an even more premium entry phone this time.
According to the Chinese source, the K50 Ultra will be powered with Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, but will retain most of the features of Redmi K50 Pro, including 120W quick charging. However, it is expected that the main camera's resolution will be reduced from 108MP to 50MP, indicating that a bigger sensor would be used.
Xiaomi is rumoured to be planning five flagships by the mid of 2022, including the Redmi K50 Ultra. The phone will include a 120Hz OLED display with 2k resolution and DC dimming for a comfortable visual experience. For easy handling, the display will be somewhat curved on the sides.
The phone's battery capacity will be between 4500 and 5000mAh, and the design will be slightly different, notably due to the larger camera sensor.
Xiaomi Mix 5, Mix Fold 2, Xiaomi 12S, Xiaomi 12 Ultra, and the Redmi K50 Ultra are the other five Xiaomi flagships coming by the second half of 2022. This list, however, has yet to receive confirmation.
