Emoji replying to messages was recently added to WhatsApp, and the social network is now enhancing the function with a fresh update. You could only respond with six emojis until recently, but starting today, you can respond with any emoji and skin tone.
Even though it's a small adjustment, WhatsApp is moving in the right direction with this because it's a much-needed function. Following the update, a + sign will be seen next to the preset six emojis, allowing you to select from the whole set.
A beta version of WhatsApp was used by WABetaInfo to discover the feature. It will appear like this:
It will take a few days until it is available to everyone, just like with every other update rollout. The global deployment has already begun, though, so it won't be long before it's accessible on your phone. To access the newest features in WhatsApp, make sure you are on the most recent version.
WhatsApp is also raising the upload limit from 100MB to 2GB in related news. Up to 512 people can now join WhatsApp groups, and you can silence certain users in group calls. Avatars for video chats and cover pictures will soon be available.
