Sri Lanka ascended to the fourth position in the latest World Test Championship rankings following their impressive triumph, whereas Bangladesh slipped to joint seventh.

In a resounding display, Sri Lanka secured a commanding 192-run victory over Bangladesh in the second Test held in Chattogram, significantly bolstering their prospects of qualifying for the ICC World Test Championship final next year.

The Asian team sealed the win in the first session on the fifth day of the final Test of the two-match series, culminating in a comfortable 2-0 series sweep.

This triumph propelled Sri Lanka (50 point percentage) past Pakistan, propelling them to fourth place in the updated World Test Championship standings, boasting a 50 percent points percentage. They now trail only India (68.51 point percentage), Australia (62.50), and New Zealand (50) in the standings.

Pakistan are now at fifth position in the standings with point percentage of 36.66.

Meanwhile, Bangladesh's descent to joint seventh (25 point percentage) in the World Test Championship rankings reflects their challenging outing in the series. Their next test awaits in Pakistan later in August this year, where they are scheduled to compete in two Test matches.
