Australian captain Pat Cummins responded to a misleading question from an Indian journalist regarding a post on social media platform ‘X’, attributed to Pakistan's wicketkeeper-batter, Mohammad Rizwan.

During the pre-match presser ahead of Pakistan and Australia World Cup match, the journalist inquired about the post Rizwan made, in which he dedicated Pakistan's victory over Sri Lanka to the oppressed Palestinians.

"This was for our brothers and sisters in Gaza." Rizwan wrote on X.

However, the journalist quoted the post as 'controversial' and wrongly accused Rizwan of dedicating the win to Hamas, a militant organization. He further inquired whether such comments were necessary on the cricket field, deeming it a form of politicization.

Responding to the question, Cummins offered a measured response to the journalist's query.

"I think I only got half of that. But yeah I love seeing sports people, seeing their personalities brought out as well. So yeah, no hugely strong thoughts either way," Cummins said.
