Pakistan wicketkeeper batter, Muhammad Rizwan's mention of Palestine did not go down well with the Indian media, and they tried that the International Cricket Council (ICC) would take action against Rizwan.

However, the team management thwarted their efforts. Sources said that the ICC had spoken to the management about the tweet, and they were told that there was no political statement in it.

Rizwan had simply dedicated the Man of the Match award to the Palestinians, and he had said nothing else. The ICC was satisfied with this explanation, and therefore, Rizwan was not asked to delete the tweet.

Sources said that there is no complete ban on the use of social media for the Pakistani team in India. Players can make general statements about the match, but they are always instructed to stay away from controversial issues.

It is worth noting that following the record-breaking triumph against Sri Lanka in ICC Men's ODI World Cup 2023, Rizwan chose to dedicate the win to the oppressed Palestinians in Gaza.
