Pakistani sports presenter Zainab Abbas has reportedly departed from India citing 'security concerns.'

Zainab, who was fulfilling the role of a presenter for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2023, faced an unfortunate turn of events triggered by a formal complaint filed by Indian lawyer Vineet Jindal. The complaint brought attention to a series of older tweets that resurfaced on the social media platform 'X,' previously known as Twitter.

Complaint against @ZAbbasOfficial filed by Advocate & Social Activist @vineetJindal19 with cyber cell Delhi Police.Requesting to lodge FIR under section 153A,295,506,121 IPC and sec67 IT Act for making derogatory remarks for Hindu faith and beliefs and for anti -Bharat… https://t.co/vctiV98wBT pic.twitter.com/f9C6I0OMuD

Jindal alleges that these resurfaced tweets, originally posted approximately nine years ago under the username "Zainablovesrk," were of a nature perceived as "anti-Hindu."

The report further added that Zainab has since changed her username to "ZAbbas Official," which is currently her active account on the 'X' platform.

Zainab is currently in Dubai and vehemently denies the allegations, asserting that she has been unfairly singled out.

The controversy surrounding Zainab's departure from India revolves around the reemergence of these historical tweets and the subsequent complaint, fueling tensions and prompting security concerns for the sports presenter.
