Former Pakistan legendary pacer, Wasim Akram, has expressed shock and disappointment after watching the Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) video on the history of Pakistan cricket that was released on the 76th Independence Day.

In a recent tweet that garnered widespread attention, Akram criticized the omission of the cricketing legend and 1992 World Cup-winning captain, Imran Khan, from the video, urging PCB to rectify the oversight and apologize.

"After long flights and hours of transit before reaching Sri Lanka, I got the shock of my life when I watched PCB's short clip on the history of Pakistan cricket minus the great Imran Khan… political differences apart but Imran Khan is an icon of world cricket and developed Pakistan into a strong unit in his time and gave us a pathway… PCB should delete the video and apologise," Akram tweeted.

On the 76th Independence Day of Pakistan, Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) released a celebratory video featuring the game's legends who contributed majorly to making Pakistan cricket relevant and known on the world map.

The video was a heartfelt tribute to all legendary cricket stars who helped shape the game's history.

However, PCB received heavy criticism from fans as it needed significant former players or were barely shown in the two-minute, 21 seconds video - including 1992 World Cup-winning captain Imran Khan, Mohammad Yousuf, and Saeed Anwar.
