The 2024 Men's T20 World Cup is set to be held from June 4 to 30 in the Caribbean and the USA, making it the first time that America will host an international cricket event.

According to ESPN Cricinfo, The ICC team inspected potential venues in the USA, including Lauderhill in Florida, Morrisville, Dallas, and New York.

A final decision on the venues will be made by the ICC in collaboration with Cricket West Indies and USA Cricket.

This week, Ireland, Scotland, and Papua New Guinea qualified for the tournament through regional qualifiers.

Prior to the regional qualifiers, a total of twelve teams secured their positions in the tournament.

The teams included the hosts, West Indies, and USA, along with the top eight teams from the 2022 T20 World Cup, namely Australia, England, India, Netherlands, New Zealand, Pakistan, South Africa, and Sri Lanka. Afghanistan and Bangladesh earned their places in the 20-team roster based on their rankings in the T20I format, completing the lineup.

The format will feature four groups of five teams in the first round, with the top two from each group advancing to the Super 8s. The top two teams from each Super 8 group will reach the semi-finals. Cricket enthusiasts await an exciting and historic tournament.

The 2024 T20 World Cup marks the beginning of the ICC's next commercial cycle from 2024-31, as finalized in 2021. The choice to designate the USA as a co-host was a strategic decision by the ICC, driven by two primary objectives.

Firstly, the North American market was recognized as a significant area for the game's expansion and development. Secondly, the ICC aimed to include cricket in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games (LA28), showcasing its ambition to have the sport featured on the Olympic stage.
