Former Pakistan chief selector, Mohammad Wasim, has taken a cheeky jibe at former fast bowler, Shoaib Akhtar, during a Twitter trend where he shared his top picks for his favorite actor, actress, sportsperson, and singer.

In an unexpected move, Wasim named Akhtar as his favorite actor, accompanied by the picture of former Pakistan batsman, Javed Miandad, naming him as his favorite sportsperson.

This choice sparked controversy and confusion among social media users, who were quick to question the reason behind Wasim's pick.

The playful remark appeared to be a lighthearted response to Akhtar's previous controversial statements against Mohammad Wasim's tenure as the head of the selection committee for the national side.

Few months back, while speaking on PTV Sports, Rawalpindi Express took a dig at the former Pakistan cricketer, as he was not satisfied with the squad selection for the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2022.

“The Pakistan squad for T20 World Cup will be changed. Mohammad Wasim is not a chief selector, he is just a puppet,” said Akhtar.

Wasim responded to former speedster's comment about being a ‘puppet chief selector’.

“Shoaib [Akhtar] is a very good friend and we spend a lot of time together. Earlier, we used to do shows together but now we don’t interact in the same manner. Cricketers and analysts have their own point of view and I respect that but that doesn’t mean that they are right all the time,” said Wasim.
