Islamabad United opener Colin Munro has admitted that he called Multan Sultans’ leg-spinner Imran Tahir a clown, during the match between the two sides at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium on Sunday.

Munro was dismissed by Tahir in the fifth over of the match, which led to the latter’s trademark celebration, and provoked the former into calling him a clown.

"I am tired of seeing him (Imran Tahir) celebrate like that and I called him a clown and he took it the wrong way and then you saw what he said to me, so we will leave it at that, eh?," Munro was quoted as saying by Pak Passion Editor Saj Sadiq.

It must be noted that James Vince’s power-packed innings ensured that Multan cruised to a comprehensive win over Islamabad.

While chasing a target of 92 runs in a match which was reduced to nine overs per side, due to rain, Vince came out all guns blazing and smacked the United bowlers to all parts of the ground. He remained unbeaten 61 runs off 24 balls, an innings which included 11 fours and one six.

Sultans won the match by nine wickets with 14 balls to spare.
