24-year-old Amad Butt is confident of a strong all-round showing in his debut match for Pakistan, after he was picked in the 15-member Twenty20 International (T20I) squad set to face Bangladesh in the upcoming three-match series in Lahore.

While speaking to reporters in Lahore on Sunday, the all-rounder said that he wants to provide balance to Pakistan’s line-up in the upcoming series.

“I want to be considered as an all-rounder and I want to contribute in all facets whenever I get a chance,” said Amad. “I have been selected as an all-rounder and I will try to fulfill expectations. People say that we lack a player like Abdul Razzaq. I will try to do as well as possible for the team in both bowling and batting.”

“My favourite all-rounders are Andrew Flintoff and Jacques Kallis,” he added.

The 24-year-old is also excited to represent the country in front his home crowd.

“Bangladesh is a very good team. We are hopeful that we will play good cricket against them,” he said. “I am excited to be in the Pakistan team and playing at home is a matter of honour.”

Amad added that he likes the challenge of bowling in the nets to Pakistan T20I captain Babar Azam.

“Babar Azam is a world class batsman, it's difficult to bowl to him in the nets,” he said. “Before, we used to think about how to bowl to world class batsmen but now we have one in our team so it's a different experience.”
