King Charles, Queen Camilla Begin Australia Tour

King Charles and Queen Camilla have arrived in Australia for their first official tour as monarchs, landing in Sydney on October 18.

The visit marks a historic occasion as Charles is the head of state for Australia, following the passing of Queen Elizabeth II in 2022.

They were greeted by Australia’s Governor-General Sam Mostyn and Prime Minister Anthony Albanese, kicking off a series of engagements highlighting Australia’s culture, sustainability efforts, and the Commonwealth’s legacy.

Charles will meet with Australian leaders and visit the country's scientific research facilities, while Camilla will focus on promoting literacy and raising awareness about domestic violence. The tour will also include a visit to Samoa for the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.
