LAHORE:

An anti terrorism court (ATC) on Friday dismissed an application seeking removal of Section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act from the FIR registered against the Shaheen Air pilot Asmat Mehmood, who had crash landed a plane at the Lahore Airport on November 3. The pilot was then sent to the prison on a 14-day judicial remand. Earlier, Mehmood’s counsel submitted that there was no justification for a terrorism charge against his client as the crash landing was an accident. Judge Khawaja Zafar Iqbal dismissed Mehmood’s application and extended his judicial remand for two weeks.
