LAHORE:

Lahore High Court (LHC) issued a notice to the National Accountability Bureau on Thursday (NAB) on a bail application filed by Formanites Housing Scheme owner Zahoor Wattoo. The NAB had arrested Wattoo over a Rs1.5 billion public fraud. The NAB’s counsel objected to the maintainability of the petition saying that Wattoo was on physical remand and that bail could not be sought at this stage. Wattoo’s counsel said THAT the petitioner had challenged an accountability court’s order granting the NAB his physical remand. The court then directed the NAB to submit a reply on the bail petition. The court later adjourned the hearing until November 11. The NAB submitted that it had received more than 1,000 complaints against the Formanites Housing Scheme for defrauding people.
