Shershah attack: 3 accused sent to jail on remand

Four men were booked on a complaint filed by Muhammad Nafees, survivor of the October 19 attack

KARACHI: Three men accused of being involved in the firing at the Shershah scrap market, were remanded to judicial custody on Saturday.

Justice Maqbool Baqar of the Sindh High Court made the decision as the administrative judge for the Anti-Terrorism Courts for Karachi division.

The investigation officer produced the three accused, Shafi Magsi, Pervez and Ali Nawaz, before the administrative judge, who perused the police file and sent them to jail. He also directed the investigation officer to submit the interim charge sheet against the accused. The fourth accused, Lal Muhammad Magsi, is already in judicial custody.

The four men were booked on a complaint filed by Muhammad Nafees, survivor of the October 19 attack in which 12 shopkeepers were killed by a group of alleged extortionists.

An FIR No. 587/2010 under sections 302, 324, 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code read with section 7 of the Anti-Terrorism Act 1997 was registered at Pak Colony police station.
