KARACHI: Corps Commander Lieutenant General Naveed Mukhtar vowed to continue the operation against terrorists, criminals and their facilitators until the complete restoration of peace in the country’s economic hub — Karachi. This he said during his visit to the Rangers headquarters on Tuesday, where the Sindh Rangers director-general Major General Bilal Akbar briefed him about the Karachi operation. Mukhtar appreciated the performance of the Rangers and gave directions to continue the operation with the same speed, said a Rangers statement issued on Tuesday. Rangers alone have carried out nearly 6,000 raids in the city since the operation began on September 5, 2013. They have apprehended more than 10,000 suspects and killed nearly 400 criminals and terrorists during various encounters.
