FAISALABAD: District bar association members on Friday boycotted courts to press their demands for a Lahore High Court (LHC) bench in Faisalabad. Jameel Ahmad, a litigant from Samundri, told The Express Tribune that he had been pursuing a property case for five years. “Several hearings have been disrupted due to lawyers’ strikes.” Chaudhary Akram, another litigant, said he had come to court for the hearing of his son’s bail application. “His application could not be taken up because lawyers did not come to work.” Talking to The Express Tribune, a bar spokesman said people of Faisalabad had been asking for an LHC bench for several years. “We will continue to press this demand,” he said.
