ISLAMABAD:

The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday issued notices to top Capital Development Authority (CDA) officials in a case pertaining to regularisation of several contract employees.

IHC acting Chief Justice Noorul Haq Qureshi sought replies from the CDA chairman, administration member, and the human resource director-general by October 6.

The counsel for petitioners said that the IHC had earlier ordered the CDA to regularise the contractual employees, but the CDA filed an intra-court appeal against the decision and later withdrew the petition.

Around 1,900 employees were regularised, but 28 others were not, despite having served the civic agency for at least four years, he said, adding that the move was a violation of the court order.
