A Dhaka court accepted the case on Monday and directed the police to prepare a report and submit it by October 12.
According to ESPNcricinfo, the fast-bowler lodged a complaint with the Mirpur police on Sunday saying that their housemaid was missing. The website further said that the cricketer was missing for the whole day, Monday, and was not reachable on the phone.
The 11-year-old victim was found on the Sunday night by a local journalist who took the victim to the nearby police station. The girl was sent to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital for treatment and the police registered a complaint.
Meanwhile, the Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) was embarrassed by the whole episode.
"We still don't know the full incident. But from what we have seen in the media, it is unwanted," said BCB CEO Nizam Uddin Chowdhury.
"We didn't expect this from a senior cricketer like him. We are embarrassed."
